Tired of the standard hand position in cs go or not comfortable, then this article is for you. The next 5 sections are visited configuring the position of the weapon in cs: go.
Weapon Field of View (FOV)
This command resets to default every time you restart CS GO. To fix this, you can put this command in your autoexec.cfg, or you can write viewmodel_presetpos 4 to the console.
viewmodel_fov
- standard value 60
- minimum value 54
- maximum value 68
Position of the weapon along the Y axis
Like the command above, it changes the weapon’s field of view, or how close / far the weapon is from your screen.
viewmodel_offset_y
The standard value is 1, the minimum value is -2, and the maximum value is 2. If you want a larger field of view, use the value higher, if less, then the lower value.
If you want to tweak it more precisely, you can use fractional values. If 1 is too close and 2 is too far, you can use 1.5 and that might be just right. If not, keep playing with the values until you find the one that works best for you.
The position of the weapon along the X axis
This command will move your weapon left and right depending on the value you set.
viewmodel_offset_x
The standard value is 1, the minimum value is -2, and the maximum value is 2. If you want to mount the weapon significantly to the right, use a higher value, if much to the left, then use a lower value.
You can also use fractional values to get a more accurate result, as mentioned above.
The position of the weapon along the Z axis
This value determines how high or low your player is holding the weapon.
viewmodel_offset_z
The standard value is -1.00000 and again the minimum value is -2 and the maximum value is 2, and as in the previous cases, you can use fractional values.
Change the position of the hands
Some players play with a weapon in their off hand. If it will significantly improve your gameplay, then use this command:
cl_righthand 1
1 is the default, change it to 0 and you will have a weapon in your left hand.
Weapon movement
This section focuses on adjusting how your weapon moves, how much the weapon sways when you move, and how your weapon model tilts backwards.
Deviation of models back when driving
cl_bob_lower_amt
This command changes how much your player’s weapon and arms are deflected backward when moving. The maximum and standard value is 21, the minimum value is 5. See how they differ.
Swinging the weapon vertically and horizontally
These commands determine how much your hand and weapon models move left and right and up and down when moving or strafing.
cl_bobamt_lat
cl_bobamt_vert
The default value for _lat is 0.40, the minimum value is 0.10, and the maximum value is 2. For the _vert command, the minimum and maximum values are the same, but the default value is 0.25. How about having some fun with the min and max values?
